Nappies terms can be a bit boggling so here's an explanation of some common terms. If we have missed any, do let us know!

Aplix - a hook and loop fastening like velcro,.

Bamboo - a brand new fabric for nappies - very absorbent, trim and super soft.

Booster - an extra pad to put into the nappy to give extra absorbency.

Cover - waterproof bit that goes over the nappy to stop clothes getting wet.

Fleece - polyester fabric which draws dampness away leaving the surface dry.

Hemp - fabric used in nappy making as it is very absorbent, more environmentally sound and usually gives a trim nappy.

Nappi Nippa - plastic gripper with little hooks to hold nappy together. Easy when you get the hang of it

Terry - towelling fabric used to make nappies & gives a 'Fairy baby' look.

Wool - often used in wraps as it is truly breathable and only needs washing once in a while. You need to try it to believe it.

Wrap - same as cover.
